Walking with Giants

This collection is one of Samir Sammoun's signature works. It is inspired by the scenery of Park Sorbonne and Park Rhône, located right behind his house in the Greater Montreal. He likes to paint this landscape in all four seasons. However, the autumn scenes are the ones that he painted the most. They render to the full the rich colours of the leaves flickering under the light in contrast with the dark trunks of the maple trees. The title was introduced in 2003 by Victor Bennett Forbes, editor-in-chief of Fine Art Magazine, New York, to suggest that Sammoun is walking amidst the masters of the Impressionism.
